Abstract:
(Show)
The article seeks to provide a preliminary analysis of the Classical Newari (CN) verbal morphology based on the lexical and syntactic data drawn from historical texts and documents. The materials that have been used represent various stages in the evolution of the language. This article attempts to trace the morpho-phonemic developments in the CN verb roots and the inflectional/derivational morphology over a period of over six centuries of attested data.
