The article discusses the cultural model of HIV/AIDS in Nepal. The article also addresses the presence of stigmas like fear, hate, and blame for the disease and those that have it in a society. It includes the role of doctors, policy makers, and other in working on issues related to this disease. The rise of NGOs and their role in this field is discussed. The media activism in an awareness campaign on HIV/AIDS in Nepal is also discussed. The article includes a letter from Patan hospital on the subject of care of HIV positive patients.
