Abstract:

The article attempts to determine the educational aspirations and expectations of rural youths in Rautahat district, which lies on the south central Terai belt of Nepal. The author aims to define these two variables. Educational aspiration refers to level of schooling the youths want to attain. Educational expectation refers to level of schooling the youths could attain, considering their economic and other opportunities. The findings of the study reject the hypothesis that the educational aspirations and expectations of the rural youths were not associated with demographic-socio-economic factors and family backgrounds.
