This article sketches the biography of Dawa Gyeltsen (zla ba rgyal mtshan, 1499-1587), son of Tertön Pema Lingpa (gter ston pad ma gling pa, 1450-1521), based on several oral sources and the written biography entitled Sprul pa'i sras chen zla ba rgyal mtshan gyi rnam thar ring chen rgyan mdzes by Jatsön Mebar (ja' tson me 'bar). According to the sources, Dawa Gyeltsen was instrumental in spreading terma teachings in Tibet and throughout the Himalayan region. (Ben Deitle 2006-02-06)
