The article studies the economic relationships between occupational castes and high castes in central Nepal. In this article the Kami, Sarki, and Damai are termed occupational castes. The study area is populated with Tamang, Kattike Deurali, two Newar families, Jaisi Bahun, Chetri, Giri, etc. It discusses the work of these occupational castes and the methods of payment for their goods by the high castes.
