Within the interdisciplinary study of consciousness in the cognitive sciences and philosophy, the author argues for greater emphasis on the study of attention. Drawing upon biological, psychological, philosophical and contemplative practices, the author offers a model of consciousness which lends itself to neural and computational experimentation.
