Fodor's Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan
Fodor's Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan is a practical and general, but slightly dated, handbook of the Himalayas. Due to the ambitious goal of covering the entire Himalayan plateau in one book, there is little to no information on most regions in Tibet. Additionally, this book was published in 2000, thus much of the information may already be out of date. There are references to companies like MCI, a plethora of telephone numbers, but very few websites. Additionally, issues like travel routes have significantly changed due to the establishment of new airports and the Lhasa railroad. Thus, although this book seems to have useful information on trekking, itineraries, and, if it is still relevant, logistical information, it's vast scope and dated material does not make it very useful in today's travels.
