One of the real triumphs of Tibetan lexicography, this is a dictionary of archaic Tibetan words; each entry is accompanied with a citation from an indigenous lexicographical text and illustrations from literature. It was perhaps published as early as 1987, the date of its foreword. It is especially useful for Old Tibetan terms and phrases, offering in many instances original and commonsense interpretations based on readings of passages cited in the dictionary.
