Space Series

The second of the Three Series (sde gsum) – the Space Series (klong sde) – appears to emerge in Tibet at least after the earliest of the Mind Series (sems sde) traditions, and has a greater diversity than the Mind Series on funerary issues. However, this is largely limited to clear signs of an emerging interest in the concept of intermediate process. For example, The Greatness of the Precious Expansion Tantra (rin po che rgyas pa chen po'i rgyud) presents a threefold typology of the intermediate process: (i) natural intermediate process, (ii) intermediate process of dreaming, and (iii) intermediate process of rebirth.
