The article discusses breast-feeding in Nepal. It studies breast-feeding in Nepal in terms of the existing religious and cultural beliefs. The author argues that breast-feeding is more economical, natural, and socially accepted practice among all Nepali mothers. It is understand that breast-feeding in Nepal is culturally patterned, socially accepted, and ritually sanctioned. The article includes demographic features of Nepal. It discusses the effect of foods like Juwanokojol during postpartum and also the ceremony called anna prasan. It include a table with data related with breast-feeding in Nepal and the duration (data collected by students of the Institute of Medicine). It also includes 1 leaf of plate.
