Goleng is a village located opposite to Yebilaptsa hospital, overlooking Mangdechu River. There are about 50 households including the houses of the households. Goleng is described as a land of wheat, which is because a word go in Khengkha is wheat and leng means a field or land. Another local, Pema Wangchuk, claims the name is not Goleng but a Golang. or Ox Head. because the temple was said to have built on land shaped like an ox head, similart to that of the local spirit Gabla Dorji. Gyalsé Pema Thinley was said to have named the place Golang.
