Village 4th admin unit (Bhutan)Local elders explain that Kaktong was named after a fight between two communities. They said enemy armies marched across Dungkar Pong. The defending army shot stones using a huge catapult from nearby Drakhar Pong, which defeated the approaching armies. Hence the name Kaktong, with Kak meaning "blood" in the local language and Tong "emptied", or "spilled blood" referring to the bloody defeat suffered by an enemy. Originally called Thrak Tong, a Dzongkha name with the same meaning. Thrak was changed to "Kak" in Khengkha, becoming Kagtong as is known today. The community primary school and Basic Health Unit for the area is situated in Kagtong, so the people of Ngangla Trong and surrounding villages walk here frequently to avail the services.
