Tamzhing village is located at the outskirts of Chamkhar town after crossing the Bumthang Airport. After Terton Pema Lingpa established the Tamzhing Lhakhang in 1501, the villagewas also widely known by the name Tamzhing. Kencho Sum Lhakhang which is also one of the sacred and a historic monuments of Bhutan is located near to Tamzhing Lhakhang within the village.
