Religious Principality
Religious Principalities are distinguished from general principalities by their leadership being abbot-princes in hierocratic lines.
Examples are Labrang, Lamo Dechen, and Bhutan. In modern Chinese surveys, these are listed as having been examples of joint politico-religious polities (zheng jiao heyi, presumably a reference to the Tibetan rubric for "the union of religion and politics (chos srid zung 'brel)).
