Leased Area

A "Leased Area" is when one government "leases" a territory from another government for its use during a defined time period during which the former government governs the area. One of the most famous examples is the "leasing" of the area known as Hong Kong by the British government from China, though more typically it involves a smaller area that is used often for military purposes.
