Royal Court

The court was the ritual center of the empire. In the absence of any fixed, stationary capital of the Tibetan Empire, it was a massive encampment that generally moved twice each year, and thus was stationed in separate places in summer and winter. This movable center included attendants, officials, monks, ritual specialists, and soldiers, and received foreign emissaries.
