Expression of Worship

This front section of a Tibetan text follows the Author's Homage and is an expression of worship to a Buddha, Bodhisattva, lama, or whoever is held in high religious esteem. It is usually verse, in two or three lines. Generally ends with ཕྱག་འཚལ་, གུས་, འདུད་, བསྟོད་ and connects to the Statement of Intent (also in verse), often through a ནས་ following འཚལ་/གུས་/འདུད་/བསྟོད་. Example: after the title, Butön's Ship for Launching onto the Ocean of Yoga Tantra continues: [Author's Homage] བླ་མ་དང་དཔལ་རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས་དཔའ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། [Expression of Worship] །གང་ཞིག་རྣམ་གྲོལ་རིན་ཆེན་གླིང་གི་ཁྱབ་བདག་མཆོག །སྐུ་བཞིའི་ལུས་མཛེས་རྣམ་འཕྲུལ་གདེངས་ཀ་སྟོང་ཕྲག་འཛིན། བདེན་གཉིས་དོན་སྟོན་ཡོན་ཏན་རོ་འཛིན་ཉིས་སྟོང་ལྡན། །རིགས་ལྔའི་ཀླུ་རྗེ་བླ་མ་རྡོ་རྗེ་འཆང་ལ་འདུད།
