Proverb

Bhutanese languages are rich in proverbs which are pithy, witty and metaphorical in nature. They capture the point very succinctly and also make the speech beautiful and flowery. It is not rare in the rural villages to hear elegant conversations which are full of proverbs even today but the younger generation lack full command of Bhutanese languages and generally do not use proverbial sayings as much.
