Bamboo Craft

The culture of producing artefacts from bamboo and cane is strong in the south-central districts of Zhemgang, Tongsa and Dagana and eastern districts of Mongar, Lhuntshe and Tashigang. People in these districts create from bamboo beautiful containers for food and drinks, farming tools, hats and household items. Simple bamboo work for fencing, roof and basic containers are also common in the northern parts of Bhutan.
