Tibetan

Although it is mainly the language of Ütsang regions in Tibet, Tibetan is spoken by a lot of older Bhutanese who had close interaction with the Tibetans. In addition, Bhutan has a significant number of Tibetan refugees who have settled in Bhutan after 1959. The main Tibetan dialects spoken in Bhutan are those of Lhodrak and Kham as most of the refugee Tibetan communities in Bhutan are from these places in Tibet.
