Phallus Recitation
When Bhutanese houses are completed and consecrated in the past, a ritual of hanging the wooden phallic symbol and sword is conducted. The phalluses and swords are pulled in a basket to the attic of the house and then hung in the four corners and on the top of the main door. While the wooden phalluses are transported from the ground floor to the attic, the men and women led by the mason and carpenter sing verses. This tradition has now almost completely stopped.
