Reading for Transmission

This ritual of authorisation is practised to give the recipient the permission as well as the blessings of the lineage before engaging in a religious practice. The ritual involves a clear and loud reading of the text by the lama. Such ritual recitation of authorisation can be very short like chanting the mantra Om maṇi padme huṃ or reading the whole kanjur canon.
