Dance of Holy Deities

Many religious establishments have their own unique dances in which the dancer with the mask of the deity represent the tutelary deity of the place. These dances have limited steps and are normally very slow. The dancer often carrries a bamboo structure dressed in robes and having a head with the mask on his shoulders to look tall among the crowd. Some deities have animal forms such as yak and lion and several men join to form the shape under a cover. Devotees flock to receive blessings during these dances.
