Astrology

Astrology plays in important role in Bhutanese life from birth and marriage to death. Bhutan follows the astrological sciences and traditions which has come to Tibet from India. Apart from the calculation of planetary positions which makes the Bhutanese reckoning of days in week different from Tibetan systems, other features remain more or less the same. Like the Tibetans, Bhutanese also use Chinese geomany known as Nagtsi. The astrological institute in Pangrizampa is responsible for producing the annual almanac containing the astrological predictions.
