Horn

Dhung refers to the pair of long horns which are used as musical instruments during Bhutanese Buddhist rituas. It is not only an instrument for making the offering of pleasant music but also an aid for meditation and chanting during tantric Buddhist practice. The horns are always blown in pairs and they are normally made of copper with silver decorations which are sometimes plated in gold. In Bhutan, most religious rituals would require this instrument, which are made both in Bhutan and outside.
