Dagger

The phurpa ritual dagger symbolizes enlightened power and speedy activity to destroy evil forces. It is used in tantric rituals of terrifying category and identified with the warthful deity Vajrakīlaya. The dagger is made from bronze or cast iron and has a deity head on the top and the sharp triangular point at the botoom. The implement is held by the right hand and often pierced into an effigy using both hand while chanting a mantra.
