Vase

The vase is used in tantric rituals as a container for the water for purification. It is visualized as a mansion of Buddhas in which the Buddhas are melted into liquid nectar that cleanses the impurities of the devotees. The vase, made of silver, bronze or copper, is wrapped in special cover and adorned with a peacock feather. It is an essential item in a Bhutanese household shrineroom.
