Uchen (Headed)

The Uchen script, which is also known as Tshuyig in Bhutan, is the most common script used for writing books in Bhutan. While a local script Jyoyig is used for notes and correspondances, the Tshuyig is used widely for writing religious books and is the only script in which the canonical scriptures are written. Bhutanese pride in their calligraphical skills and local designs of Uchen script.
