Carving
The culture of wood carving is thriving in Bhutan. Most wood structures in temples and dzongs including pillars, beams and windows are carved with Buddhist motifs, animal figures and floral designs. Wood carving is also heavily used in the family shrines called choesham. Furnitures with beautiful wood carving are also produced across the country. Today, wood carvers also make a lot of souvenirs from wood carving. Wood carving is particularly well known in the Kengkhar region of eastern Bhutan.
