Rukha Dialect

Monkha or Olekha is spoken among the Monpa ethnic group in the lower slopes of Jowo Durshing range in Tongsa and Rukha village in Wangdi district on the other side of Jowo Durshing. The inhabitants are thought to be early settlers in Bhutan. The Rukha dialect is spoken by the Monpas who are in the Rukha areas in Wangdi district.
