Lepcha

The Lepcha are an ethnic group of eastern Nepal and Sikkim in India who speak a Tibeto-Burman language of the same name. According to the 2001 census of Nepal, 2,826 people speak Lepcha as a mother tongue and there are 3,660 ethnic Lepcha registered in Nepal. (Mark Turin – June 01, 2004)
