Account of a Religious Artifact

Religious objects such as cymbals, vajra thunderbolts, bells, skulls, ritual daggers, etc. come with stories of their origin, provenance and power. Many such religious objects are said to have been extracted as treasures from rocks and cliffs having been hidden since the 8th century while others are said to have been made by master artists or religious figures. They are attributed special spiritual powers and qualities. There are common stories of how some of these objects are possessed by spirits who look after them and therefore if taken from places where they belong, the persons are said to have tracked down by the protector deities and spirits.
