Threaded Do

This ritual with thread art is generally conducted to avert misfortunes and generate wellbeing by creating artistic structures with multi-coloured thread. The structure is then blessed with mantras, gestures and meditation to be perceived as great enjoyments and luxurious gifts by the evil spirits. There are two types of dhoe threat art: one meant for casting away and one which represents the deities and is kept. The most elaborate thread art ritual is perhaps the Sridpa Chidhoe or the Cosmic Thread Art Ritual.
