Aspiration

Monlam refers to wishes, hopes and aspirctions in a person and is often expressed through prayers which are composed by figures in the past and are religious and spiritually powerful in nature. In the Bhutan, the most common prayers are aspirations to engage in Bodhisattva conduct and prayers to be reborn in the Sukhavāti or Zangdog Pelri realms of the Buddhas. There are also many other prayers and they are generally said at the end of a ritual or event.
