Drowolung Monastery is located on the hillside of south Sedrongtso in Lhodrak county of Lhokha region in the Tibetan Autonomous Region. The monastery was built in the 11th century by Marpa the Translator. At the foothill of the monastery is the place where Marpa the Translator and Milarepa met for the first time, and the place is referred as Tünkyenzhing. Behind the monastery is Marpa's and his masters’ meditation caves and the charnel ground. Inside the monastery there are Marpa’s throne, a stone with Marpa’s hand and footprints, and inside the new assembly hall are relics from Marpa and his masters.
