The Qing granted the title of Pacification Commissioner (anfusi 安抚司) in 1729. There was one principal Pacification Commissioner, one deputy Pacification Commissioner, and one Additional Deputy Pacification Commissioner. Under them there were five Commanding Officers, one Head of 1,000 Households (stong dpon, qianhu (千户) and one Head of 100 households (brgya dpon, tu baihu 土百户). There were 6,500 households with over 30,000 people under Degé’s rule, and the annual grain tax was equivalent to 450 taels of silver. Its inheritance system was different from that of other tusi; rather, it was like that of officials appointed by the Qing government.
