Confession ritual

Generally these are rituals involving the confession, and thereby the expiation, of negative deeds. Some varieties of these rituals may be performed as ways of restoring broken vows. Some are directed at particular deities. In some cases, they are performed as a way of preventing negative consequences of particular infractions.
