Death ritual

Rituals for dealing with death represent one of the most diverse classes of Tibetan ritual. This category includes rituals performed prior to death (preparing for death, predicting the signs of death, and so forth), during the dying process (helping the consciousness escape from the body, guiding the dying person to a favorable rebirth, preventing evil spirits from interfering with the soul of the deceased, and so forth), and after death (funerary rituals, commemorations of the deceased, and rituals for the benefit of the deceased).
