Empowerment

An empowerment is the doorway (sgo) into tantric yogic practice and is designed to ritually transform a yogi's body and mind in ways that allow for that practice to be successful. Empowerments also serve as social gateways, or ritual ceremonies that allow full participation in a tantric community

This category also includes empowerments that function more simply as public rituals and blessings, independent of any soteriological goals.
