Non-embarrassing Joke

The Bhutanese people have a robust sense of humour. Most jokes are verbal but some physical gestures are also meant to cause humour and laughter. People also play pranks and tricks as a way of entertainment and creating laughter. There is no tradition of standup comedians but men and women alike crack jokes as part of their conversations. During festive occasion, clowns such as the Atsara tell jokes and play pranks in order to entertain people. While some jokes contain embarrassing sexual taboos, other jokes are humour and pranks which can be shared amid family gatherings.
