Historical Poetry

Beside the folk poetic compositions of lozey ballads, tsangmo poems, songs, proverbs, etc. Bhutan has a tradition of writing poems, particularly among the educated elites. These poems sometimes narrate an event or describe an object or person. Thus, the poems contain insightful information about the history of the place and people.
