Alphabetical Composition

The traditon of writing a katsom poetry is quite common in Bhutan. In this type of poetry, the poet would structure the poetry in such a way that the first syllable of each line is either identical or homophonic with the aphabets in proper sequence. For example, the first line of the verse would start with the sound ka and the second with a word beginning with the sound kha and so on. It is a tradition of poetry well known also in Tibet.
