Color Combination

The traditional Bhutanese have a refined and nuanced sense of colours and are familiar with the art of colour combination and blending. Both in textile production carried out by women and in painting carried out by men, the creation and combination of different colour was a very important skill. Cow hide glue was used to make the colour durable and water resistant. Small bowls and brushes made from animal hair were used for producing different colour combinations.
