Bamboo Bridge

Easy to build even at very difficult locations, bamboo bridges were highly useful in connecting people. Given Bhutan's rugged terrain with deep valleys, ravines and gushing torrents, it was difficult to build bridges. Bamboo and cane bridges were used by people to cross a river or to transfer a luggage across a river. Today, there are many suspension bridges built with steel ropes held by concrete pillars but bamboo is commonly used as the floor mat and side walls.
