Bhutanese use a number of systems for enumeration of things. Traditional Bhutanese commonly used the system of counting in scores. This is still used in rural communities in measuring grains and dairy products. However, the most common form of enumeration is decimal system which has come to Bhutan through its Buddhist tradition and modern education. The ancient Buddhist arithmetic mentions numbers as high as sixty figures. Bhutanese also use system of enumerating in pairs, in the poney system and some other archaic ways. They also often enumerate by makig analogical references to Buddhist topics and themes.
