Yaklha

Yaklha festival is observed in the summer in Ura valley of Bumthang. This is festival to propitiate the cattle deity Ode Gungyal. A Bonpo priest carries out the offering of incense and fumigation offering using an old textual liturgy. The lead cows and yaks are then adorned with coloured hair and fried cookies on their horns.
